For the first time, the Assistance League of Flintridge offered a real-life engineering class in summer school. Curious minds were put to work by teacher Mike Mora in solving construction issues. Working in teams, they made marshmallow and toothpick bridges (some of the marshmallows got eaten during construction), built and flew air-powered rockets, and even had to design and construct a rescue stretcher using a potato.
