Power Outage Affects Hundreds in LCF

More than 500 La Cañada Flintridge customers were affected by a power outage on Monday afternoon, according to Southern California Edison spokeswoman Mary Ann Milbourn.
The outage occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, initially affecting 1,367 customers between the Foothill Freeway, Gould Avenue, Georgian Road and Oakwood Avenue.
Within 30 seconds, only 537 customers were still left without power, and as of Tuesday morning, 28 customers remained without power until it was completely restored at 11:49 a.m.
“The cause was some problem with underground equipment,” Milbourn said. “We’re able to re-route and get more people on. It’s always more difficult when it’s underground. You can look up in the air to see if a wire’s broken or a pole’s down, underground it takes a little longer to trace where the problem is. They identified it and fixed it.”
