Les Tupper Awards Nominations Open

Local residents are invited to nominate candidates for this year’s prestigious Les Tupper Awards. Each year since 1969, the La Cañada Flintridge Coordinating Council has presented awards to individuals, groups and students who have provided exemplary service to the La Cañada Flintridge community. These awards are named in honor of Les Tupper, a civic leader who cared deeply about education, youth and enhancing the quality of life in LCF.
Nominations may be submitted by individuals or organizations. Criteria for nominees include a “long-term and broad-based involvement in LCF community services,” a spokesman said. “Nominations cover the areas of education, youth activities, cultural pursuits, religious, business and civic or social services. Qualifications should include demonstrated leadership qualities and roles that bring positive recognition to themselves and to the LCF community.”
The categories are Individual Service Award, Student Service award, Organization Service Award and Special Service Award.
Nomination forms and detailed criteria are available on line at lcfcc.info. Nominations should be submitted by mail to LCF Coordinating Council, P.O. Box 264, LCF, 91012, or by email to LesTupper@lcfcc.net. Nomination forms are also available at the LCF City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce office and the library.
Nominations are due online by midnight or postmarked on or before Friday, Feb. 23. Fairness requires that there can be no exceptions.
The awards ceremony will be held on Monday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in JPL’s Von Karman Auditorium.
