Spartans, Flintridge Prep Undefeated in League

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ volleyball team swept Rio Hondo League rival South Pasadena High, 26-24, 25-18, 25-17, last Thursday to complete the season sweep and pull ahead in the race for a league title.
Senior Chase Lin led with 15 kills and one ace, while senior Jacob Nies added 12 kills. Senior Korbin Christoph registered 10 kills and one ace and senior Ben Aydia tallied six kills.
The Spartans remain undefeated in league play with a 6-0 record (17-4 overall) and own a two-game lead over South Pasadena and Monrovia, which are tied for second with 4-2 league records.
LCHS, ranked No. 6 in this week’s CIF-SS Division III poll, is scheduled to return to action by visiting Gabrielino High in San Gabriel in a league match on Tuesday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves have been idle since defeating their visiting crosstown rival Pasadena Poly, 18-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-16, in a Prep League match on March 17.
Flintridge Prep (10-1 overall, 2-0 in league) is scheduled to visit Providence High in Burbank for a league matchup on Thursday, March 31, at 4:30 p.m.

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights won their second straight Mission League matchup by sweeping visiting Chaminade High of West Hills, 25-10, 25-13, 25-18, on Monday.
St. Francis (12-5-1 overall, 3-1 in league) previously won a league match at Alemany High in Mission Hills, 22-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-18, on Thursday, March 24.
Sophomore Will Martinez led the Golden Knights with 13 kills while junior Gabe Metcalf registered 35 assists, 13 digs and four kills. Senior Robert Nardoni recorded 10 kills, 16 digs and three blocks, and junior James Clapp tallied 10 kills, four blocks, four digs and one ace. Sophomore Titus Rodz posted nine kills and 10 digs, junior Blake Welsh notched eight kills, and junior Aj Lopez finished with one kills and six digs.
The Golden Knights, ranked No. 18 in the CIF-SS Division I/II poll, are scheduled to visit Adolfo Camarillo High in a nonleague matchup on Thursday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m.
