La Cañada Dismantles Rival South Pasadena, 9-1

The La Cañada High School varsity softball team crushed South Pasadena, 9-1, in a Rio Hondo League game last Friday.
Freshman Bentley Lebrecque, who produced an RBI on offense, earned the win, allowing one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts across five innings. Junior Kayla Salley worked around a pair of hits and a walk with a strikeout to blank South Pas over the final two innings.
Sophomore Elle Leckrone doubled, scored a pair of runs and added an RBI, while junior Kyra Davis collected a base hit, two runs scored and an RBI. Senior Amy Lyman finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, freshman Abigail Milton recorded a base hit and a pair of RBIs, and junior Riley Breckheimer had a base hit and a run scored. Sophomore Ashley Lovejoy notched a run scored and an RBI, while sophomore Mia Salardino scored once.
The Spartans (14-5 overall record, 6-3 in league) own a half-game advantage over San Marino (5-3 in league) for second place, with the final matchup between the two schools scheduled at SMHS on Wednesday, April 27, at 3:30 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves collected their third win and first shutout of the season after winning at Pasadena Poly, 7-0, in a Prep League game last Friday. Freshman pitcher Elise Fong picked up the win while junior Sarah Boughdanos went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
Flintridge Prep narrowly lost a league game to visiting Westridge School of Pasadena, 5-3, last Tuesday. Boughdanos finished 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs, while sophomore Asta Uziel tallied a base hit, two stolen bases and two runs scored.
The Wolves previously lost a league game at Mayfield Senior, 9-6. Senior Luna Tobar recorded a base hit, an RBI and two runs scored, while junior Madison Lin produced a pair of RBIs and a run scored.
Flintridge Prep (3-10-1 overall, 2-7 in league) will host Alverno Heights Academy of Sierra Madre in a nonleague game on Thursday, April 21, at 3:30 p.m. before a league rematch with visiting Pasadena Poly on Monday, April 25, at 3:30 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART
The Tologs entered this week having been idle since their 21-0 blowout victory over visiting Notre Dame Academy of Los Angeles on March 31.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (11-7 overall, 4-0 in league) will visit Marymount High of Los Angeles in a Sunshine League game on Thursday, April 21, at 3:15 p.m.
