Methodist Church’s ‘Roll Down Justice’ Series Begins Sunday

First published in the April 28 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

Pastor Karin Ellis of La Cañada United Methodist Church begins a new worship series called, “Roll Down Justice” (Amos 5:24) this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
This week’s sermon “Naming Each Child of God” discusses the United Methodist baptism liturgy in which each person is named a “Child of God” and the fact that this means nothing can separate us from the love and grace of God. No matter what others say about us, no matter what we say about other people, we are all given the name “Child of God.” Pastor Ellis will reflect on what a different world we would have if we remembered that each person is a child of God.
All are welcome to celebrate communion during this Sunday’s service. Also, LCUMC will be collecting food for Union Station Homeless Services. Note that masks are now optional when worshiping indoors.
For those who choose to participate virtually, the service will be posted on Sunday afternoon at lcumc.com and on the church’s Facebook page.
LCUMC is located at 104 Berkshire Place adjacent from the LCHS sports fields. For more info about the church’s virtual activities go to lcumc.com or call the office at (818) 790-3605.
