More than 1,000 people lined Foothill Boulevard for the annual Fiesta Days Parade recently, which is among the highlights of a weekend presented by the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce and Community Association.
Local elected officials from the La Cañada Flintridge City Council and the La Cañada Unified School District Governing Board were joined by regional politicians including Congressman Adam Schiff, state Sen. Anthony Portantino, Assembly members Laura Friedman and Chris Holden as well as representatives from local civic organizations.
Luis Partida Brunete, the mayor of Villanueva de la Cañada (LCF’s Sister City) in Spain, served as grand marshal.
Students from local high schools as well as some of the city’s youngest preschoolers walked —and often rode bicycles — along Foothill Boulevard, from Cornishon Avenue to Gould Avenue. Several Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and even some four-legged creatures were also among the parade’s participants.
