Underserved Students to Benefit From Sydney Paige Fundraiser

First published in the Oct. 20 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

The Sydney Paige Foundation will host its annual Color of Impact benefit at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia on Friday, Nov. 4, beginning at 6 p.m. The special evening will include dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions and entertainment featuring speed painter Michael Israel.
There also will be an opportunity to hear from community organizations that have been positively impacted by Sydney Paige.
Founded in 2013, Sydney Paige is a nonprofit organization providing underserved students K-12 with critical tools, including brand-new, quality backpacks, school supplies and books to help them succeed in school. With a focus on quality to ignite self-confidence in the youth they serve, Sydney Paige raises the bar on giving to make a sustainable impact while simultaneously eliminating waste that low-quality donations create.
With underwriting from corporations, foundations and individual donors, Sydney Paige partners with schools and community-based nonprofits nationwide to arrange local giveaways of high-quality, kid-approved backpacks, books and full sets of grade-appropriate school supplies. To date, Sydney Paige has served more than 200,000 students and donated more than 2 million backpacks, books and individual school supplies.
