Pasadena Community Foundation Celebrates 69 Years

First published in the Nov. 3 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

This year, Pasadena Community Foundation marks 69 years of grantmaking impact in the greater Pasadena area.
For local nonprofit organizations, 2022 was a year of determination, adaptation and resilience following more than two years of pandemic challenges.
Since January, in partnership with our generous community, PCF has supported more than 60 local nonprofits and 75 individual scholars with $1.6 million in grant and scholarship awards.
Highlights of PCF’s 2022 impact include:
• Launching the Petersen Scholars Program to provide support for 28 transition age foster youth pursuing educational opportunities
• Awarding $200,000 in Affordable Housing Initiative funds to Heritage Housing Partners and the City of Pasadena to rehab a property for six unhoused PCC students
• Bolstering support services for elderly individuals at six local organizations with $64,000 in Senior Grants
• Ensuring local students continue to receive high-quality arts education through the Rowe & Gayle Giesen Trust, a PCF endowment
• Protecting local monarch and bird populations by funding projects at Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy and Pasadena Audubon Society
A single gift to PCF strengthens the missions of numerous local nonprofit organizations. Join us in making an impact for the greater good of the Pasadena area. Learn more about Pasadena Community Foundation at pasadenacf.org.
