La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Parent Education Program board, ministry support team and staff recently met at the La Cañada Flintridge home of Brad and Ashley Barrett for a year-end Christmas party and board meeting.

LCPC Parent Ed is filled with exciting opportunities. Jan. 24–27 is the 2nd Semester Open House, in which all parents and grandparents of newborn children through college students are invited to experience a free trial class (reservations are available online). In addition to the 16 daytime classes, seven Parent Express classes will be offered, including some new Express offerings — Spring Infants, Scaffolding Parenting, Managing Technology, a new series of the Art of Fatherhood, and a marriage class for couples.
The Spring Infants Express class (for babies born in the last six months) will meet Wednesdays, Feb. 8 through March 15, from 5-7 p.m. with dinner included. It will be co-taught by instructors Nanette Brown, mother of seven, and Daniela Kim, mother of four, with teaching assistant Jana Van Dyck. Couples are encouraged to attend together, and a couple’s discount will be automatically applied at checkout. Managing Technology, taught by Sloan Walsh, will meet online on Tuesdays from February to May with classes broken down for parents of middle and high schoolers, parents of elementary kids, and parents of children 0-5 years old. Participants are encouraged to check the website for more information on all these popular classes.
LCPC Parent Ed is also excited to announce the 2023 Annual Gala, “Making Lemons Into Lemonade: Living Life With Zest!” on Saturday, Feb. 25. Save the date for a fun filled night of fabulous food and live entertainment where LCPC Parent Ed will celebrate a 44-year legacy — as well as raise money for ongoing programming.
Additionally, 10% of all our net proceeds will go to Young Life Capernaum. If you are interested in underwriting opportunities, visit bit.ly/PARENTEDGALA23 for more information. Additionally, if you would like to donate an item or service to the online auction, which will run Feb. 14-28, you can do so at bit.ly/PARENTEDAUCTION23.
