The rain did not deter Paradise Canyon Elementary School families from attending the recently held Family Reading Night, where “Chester and the Hot Air Balloon” was enjoyed.
The authors Dallas Raines — award-winning chief meteorologist on ABC 7 — and Dannie Raines’ dog, Chester, is the main character in the book. The pair read to attendees, asked them weather-related questions and gave out prizes.
After, everyone enjoyed milk and cookies before they opened their umbrellas and headed home.
