Spartans Tie San Marino, Blank Blair

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ soccer team tied visiting San Marino, 2-2, in a Rio Hondo League game on Monday.
Seniors Kyra Davis and Grace Paton each scored one goal for the Spartans.
LCHS routed host Blair High in Pasadena, 5-0, in a league matchup last Friday.
Freshman Samantha Hosford registered a hat trick while sophomores Samantha Neumeier and Hailee Takao each added one goal.
LCHS was previously shut out by visiting Temple City in a league game, 1-0.
The Spartans hosted third-place South Pasadena yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. La Cañada (5-5-2 overall, 2-3-1 in league) will host Monrovia in a league game on Friday, Jan. 27, at 3:30 p.m. before concluding the regular season with a pair of road matchups at San Marino on Tuesday, Jan. 31, and Temple City on Thursday, Feb. 2.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves tied host Palos Verdes Chadwick, 1-1, in a Prep League matchup last Friday. Senior Chayse Ying scored the opening goal while senior Sage Shurman was credited with an assist.
Flintridge Prep routed host Providence High in Burbank in a league game, 9-0, as Shurman registered a hat trick with one assist. Ying recorded one goal and two assists while senior Miranda Thomson and sophomore Valentina Mancilla each finished with one goal and one assist. Senior Ana Bozzi-Mackay, junior Stella Smit and freshman Juliet Oberley each scored once, senior Nadya Lamarr was credited with a pair of assists, and freshman Valentina Ronga had one assist.
The first-place Wolves (11-2-4 overall, 4-0-2 in league) will visit third-place Pasadena Poly for a league game today at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Mayfield Senior on Monday, Jan. 30, for a crucial rematch.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

The Tologs were shut out at Marymount High in Los Angeles, 4-0, in a Mission League matchup last Friday.
FSHA narrowly lost a league game at Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth, 3-2, last Wednesday. Junior captain Sachi Kaneko-Grun recorded one goal and one assist while senior Erika Caballero scored once.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (6-5-2 overall, 0-4-2 in league) will visit third-place Chaminade High in West Hills for a league rematch on Friday, Jan. 27, at 5 p.m.
