Spartans Tie Monrovia on Senior Night

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ soccer team tied visiting Monrovia, 1-1, in a Rio Hondo League matchup last Friday as senior Siran Khachataourian scored the lone goal.
The Spartans were previously shut out by visiting South Pasadena in a league game, 1-0.
Fourth-place LCHS (5-6-3 overall, 2-4-2 in league) will visit third-place Temple City for its regular-season finale today at 3:30 p.m.
The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m.

The Wolves continued their Prep League dominance by blanking host Pasadena Poly, 7-0, last Thursday.
Senior Chayse Ying registered three goals and two assists while freshman Scarlett Coombes tallied two goals and one assist. Senior Sage Shurman finished with one goal and two assists, sophomore Valentina Mancilla scored once, and senior Nadya LaMarr and freshman Valentina Ronga were each credited with one assist.
The Wolves previously routed host Westridge School in Pasadena in a league matchup, 9-0. Ying amassed five goals and three assists while Shurman racked up three goals and two assists. Freshman Lauren Bradford produced one goal while senior Miranda Thomson, junior Zaria Echemendia, sophomore Celeste Davila and freshman Juliet Oberley each had one assist.
First-place Flintridge Prep (13-2-4 overall, 6-0-2 in league) hosted last-place Providence High of Burbank in their regular-season finale yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.

The Tologs suffered a pair of Mission League shutouts last week, falling to Chaminade High in West Hills, 2-0, and Notre Dame High of Sherman Oaks, 4-0.
Sixth-place FSHA (6-7-2 overall, 0-6-2 in league) hosted fifth-place Sierra Canyon High of Chatsworth in its regular-season finale yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
