Junior Women’s Club Seeks New Members

First published in the Feb. 9 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

The La Cañada Junior Women’s Club, a nonprofit organization founded in 1969, encourages community to join them as members to help support women and children in need in neighboring communities.
“Although we are actively involved in fundraising and hands-on activities with our philanthropies — we like to kick off our shoes, grab a few bottles of wine and party,” said LCJWC President Rima Sirrieh. “And we’d love to meet you!”
“For more than 50 years, we’ve been hosting events that you know and love, such as our Fall Shop Night and our monthly Meals on Heels program where members gather to create bag lunches for Union Station Homeless Services,” she added. “While we do a lot of good for the community, we also find a way to have a ton of fun doing it.”
With numerous social events throughout the year, Sirrieh said the club finds a way to celebrate one another while providing much needed emotional support. Other social events that the group have participated in have included a yoga and brunch party, a Wine and Wigs party, Bunco, Lunch Bunch, Book Club, hiking/walks, a Lunar New Year party, and participated in the Fiesta Day Parade.
“We believe this is a place where members really do become lifelong friends,” Sirrieh said. “And quite honestly, we’d love to have you join us.”
