Flintridge Prep Edged by Harvard-Westlake in PKs

The Flintridge Prep varsity girls’ soccer team was edged in a penalty-kick shoot-out by visiting Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City in the CIF-Southern Section Division II matchup last Friday. After battling to a 1-1 draw through regulation and overtime, the Wolverines claimed a 3-1 win on penalty kicks.
Sophomore Valentina Mancilla scored Flintridge Prep’s lone goal in regulation on an assist by senior Miranda Thomson.
The Wolves previously defeated visiting Sunny Hills High of Fullerton, 4-2, in their first-round CIF playoff game as senior Sage Shurman registered one goal and a pair of assists for a game-high four points. Senior Chayse Ying finished with one goal and one assist while senior Presley Nevadomsky and Thomson each scored once.
Flintridge Prep (8-0-2 in league, 16-3-4 overall) will look to defend its Prep League title next season.
