The Jack Lantz Sextet will bring a celebration-themed Jazz Vespers to the La Cañada Presbyterian Church sanctuary on Sunday, April 30, at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
The theme of this edition will be a celebration of Easter and “throwing off the shackles of COVID-19.”
Featuring sacred swinging jazz, the jazz worship will feature a combination of energetic musical style and simple liturgy provides a stimulating way to reflect on life today and prepare for the challenges of the week ahead.
The program will feature Jack Lantz on piano, Jeff Kaye on trumpet, Lance Rickman on saxophone, Ido Meshulam on trombone, Nick Morabito on bass and Dave Marks on drums. The band will improvise on familiar hymns, jazz and gospel tunes.
