LCF Beats Monrovia; FSHA Wins League

The La Cañada High School varsity softball team edged host Monrovia, 8-7, in a Rio Hondo League game last Saturday as junior pitcher Elle Leckrone, who went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, racked up 10 strikeouts in a complete game effort in the circle.
Senior Kyra Davis went 3-for-4 with a run for LCHS, junior Mia Salardino went 2-for-4 with two runs, and sophomore Grace Rocco registered a double and an RBI. Junior Ashley Lovejoy tallied a double while freshman Ava Perry produced a hit and two RBIs. Senior Riley Breckheimer recorded a hit, a run and a walk while freshman Laila Kazazian finished with a hit and an RBI. Sophomore Bentley Labrecque had a base hit while sophomore Aubrey Wurm walked and scored once.
The Spartans were shut out at Temple City, 6-0, in a league game last Friday. Labrecque allowed six runs (three earned) on five hits and no walks with three strikeouts over six innings in the circle. Leckrone went 2-for-3 and Salardino, Perry and Lovejoy each had a base hit.
LCHS cruised to a 13-2 league victory over visiting San Marino last Thursday as Rocco, who went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and two runs, allowed two earned runs on three hits with five strikeouts over a five-inning complete game performance. Leckrone went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double, three RBIs and two runs while Davis went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two runs. Perry went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI, Labrecque went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and Wurm went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Senior Sydney Zoltzman recorded a hit, an RBI and a run while Salardino tallied a hit and a run. Breckheimer had a base hit while Lovejoy scored once.
The Spartans previously lost a league game to visiting Temple City, 5-1. Wurm tallied two walks and a base hit, Rocco finished with a hit and a run, and Leckrone registered a hit and a walk. Labrecque and Lovejoy each recorded a base hit while Breckheimer was credited with an RBI.
Second-place La Cañada (14-9 overall, 8-2 in league) hosted San Marino for its season-finale yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

The Tologs clinched the Sunshine League title on Monday after routing visiting Notre Dame Academy of Los Angeles, 31-8. Flintridge Sacred Heart outscored its opponents 127-14 over its current eight-game win streak.
FSHA crushed visiting Immaculate Heart High of Los Angeles, 10-1, in a league game last Saturday as junior Meaghan Coyle, who had a hit and two walks, pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts. Senior captain Marie Milton went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, senior Meghan Garrity went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and a steal, and senior Ellie McCarthy went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Senior Cameron Bender recorded a double, two RBIs and a run, senior captain Charlotte Taylor tallied a hit, two runs, a steal and a walk, and senior Carly Crossland had a base hit. Junior Megan Milton walked twice, was credited with an RBI and stole a base while sophomore Ava Nawrocki scored twice and stole a base.
The Tologs blanked host Marymount High in Los Angeles, 19-0, in a league game last Thursday. Bender went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, three RBIs, two runs and a walk, Nawrocki went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs, three runs and a walk, and McCarthy went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs. Taylor registered a home run, three runs, two RBIs and two walks, Marie Milton finished with a triple, three RBIs and two runs, and senior Cassie Huston recorded a double and a run. Garrity tallied a hit, an RBI and a run.
Megan Milton produced a hit, an RBI and a run, freshman Juliette Smith collected a hit, an RBI and a run, and freshman Ena Ramsey had a hit and a run. Sophomore Gianna Candelora scored twice while Coyle and Crossland each walked and scored once.
Flintridge Sacred Heart previously picked up a 12-0 league victory over visiting Immaculate Heart as Coyle racked up eight strikeouts over five scoreless innings with one hit and one walk. Bender went 4-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run while Garrity went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, three runs and a steal. McCarthy went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs while Nawrocki went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Marie Milton went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs and a walk while Taylor went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Junior Abigail Blea scored twice while Megan Milton had three walks and scored a run.
FSHA (14-3 overall, 6-0 in league) concluded the regular season by hosting Harvard-Westlake of Studio City yesterday; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m.

Flintridge Preps Sienna Liston went 3 for 4 with two doubles three runs and an RBI to help the Wolves beat rival Polytechnic in a Prep League game last week

The Wolves were shut out by visiting Providence High of Burbank, 10-0, in a Prep League game last Friday.
Flintridge Prep pitcher Elise Fong finished with three strikeouts over 5.2 innings in the circle, Asta Uziel had a base hit, and Mary Sinclair and Madison Lin each walked once.
The Wolves previously picked up a 14-3 league victory over visiting Pasadena Poly as Fong, who went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run, had six strikeouts over five innings with eight hits, three runs (two earned) and no walks. Sienna Liston went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI while Emma Carmack went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Sinclair went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run, Sarah Bougdanos and Lin each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, and Uziel recorded a double, an RBI, a run and a steal. Presley Nevadomsky tallied a hit, an RBI, a run and a steal while Eliza Gunter produced a hit and a run.
