A team of 13 students from La Cañada Elementary School competed at the Los Angeles Regional Science Olympiad at Temple City High School on Saturday, April 22, placing fifth out of 46 teams.
The students spent the morning testing their knowledge and engineering contraptions in 15 events that covered topics ranging from bridge design to epidemiology.
The team, mentored by the LCHS Science Olympiad team, received gold medals for their efforts.
