As part of a cultural exchange with La Cañada Flintridge’s Sister City, Villanueva de la Cañada in Spain, 14 La Cañada High School students had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to collaborate with internationally renowned Spanish artist Javier Montesol.
Over the past several months, LCHS art teacher Mike Kauffman facilitated the process, which resulted in a spectacular mural painted in the school courtyard.
“I can’t even begin to express my gratitude enough to Sister Cities for what just transpired on our campus,” Kauffman said. “The mural was simply magical. This opportunity for my students will be something they will always cherish.”
