LCPC to Host ‘You’re a Grand Old Flag’ Concert

La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Americana 2023 concert, “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” includes salutes to America, veterans and the American flag on Sunday, July 2, at 2 p.m.
Tyler Wright, former CEO of YMCA of the Foothills, will return as the host and emcee. Wright will present Johnny Cash’s monologue “Ragged Old Flag,” and will lead a tribute to veterans of our armed forces. The concert will feature more than 100 singers and instrumentalists and will include a surprise finale.
The concert will feature many favorites including “America the Beautiful,” “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” “Stars and Stripes Forever” and, of course, “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” All will be accompanied by video and images of our great country.
Prior to the concert at 1:30 p.m., Jack Lantz, LCPC’s director of music and worship arts, will present a pre-concert talk on the history and significance of the chosen concert music.
The concert is free. La Cañada Presbyterian Church is located at 626 Foothill Blvd. Free child care for younger children will also be provided.
For those who cannot attend in-person, the concert and pre-concert lecture will be livestreamed at live.lacanadapc.org.
