The new school year began for the La Cañada Elementary Lions last week on Aug. 15.
With more than 600 students and counting, the TK through sixth grade school opened its doors to a new year and a new principal, Kelly Duncan, at the helm.
Students of all grades were excited to be together once more, but due to the heat and temperature of the blacktop, most classes were advised to remain under the cafeteria canopy with tabletop games to play for recesses and play times.
