‘Stars for Tomorrow’ Gala Is Sept. 14

Stars will hold its annual “Stars for Tomorrow” gala on Thursday evening, Sept. 14, to celebrate the work of Stars with mentoring, after-school programming, college support, summer enrichment and wellness programming.
The event, which will be held at the home of David and Mary Sue Scheidler, will honor the tenure of outgoing Stars’ Executive Director Nancy Stiles as well as introduce new Stars Executive Director Matu Taylor.
“It has been one of the great joys of my life to serve at Stars for the last 15 years, first on the mentoring staff and then as executive director,” Stiles said. “I’ve had a front-row seat to the lives of some incredible kids and watching them grow alongside their beloved mentors and program staff, and thrive in finding their purpose.”
The evening will feature silent and live auctions, musical entertainment, and a three-course meal prepared by renowned local caterer Mary Pat Brandemeyer.
“Stars for Tomorrow” sponsors include David and Mary Sue Scheidler, Rich and Barb Wilson of Volkswagen Pasadena, Daniel and Maryann Fong, Raam Construction, Chick-fil-A Pasadena, Adam and Nancy Stiles, Wells Fargo, Stephen and Mary Anne Cunningham, Sarkissian & Perera Group, and Brad and Clarissa Weirick, Montrose Church, the Eng family, Bill and Kathy Podley, Gerri and Larry Edson, John and Jodean Giese, Nicole and Trevor Goller, and YWCA San Gabriel Valley.
