LCPC Presents Jazz Vespers on Sept. 24

The Jack Lantz Sextet will present a Jazz Vespers concert and worship experience featuring the jazz versions of hymns, spirituals and gospel music in the La Cañada Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m.
LCPC Jazz Vespers is presented live and in-person in the sanctuary at LCPC. In addition, it will be livestreamed at live.lacanadapc.org.
The Jazz Vespers program will feature the Jack Lantz Sextet (Lance Rickman, alto and tenor saxophones; Jeff Kaye, trumpet; Ido Meshulam, trombone; plus Nick Morabito, bass; Dave Marks, drums; and Jack Lantz on piano) improvising on a wide range of familiar hymns and gospel music, in swing style. Simple liturgy and background stories will be used to connect the music.
“This Sunday is the opportunity for people to have fun, to worship, to celebrate and do all those fun things they like to do with jazz swing music in a church setting,” Lantz said.
No charge and no reservations are required for this hourlong event; however, free will offering will be accepted.
The La Cañada Presbyterian Church is located at 626 Foothill Blvd. For more information, call the church office at (818) 790-6708 or visit lacanadapc.org.
