The La Cañada High School Choral Department recently welcomed the community to its Fall Debut Concert, “Sure on This Shining Night,” which was led by 7-12 conductor Jeff Brookey and Women’s Ensemble assistant conductor Amanda Svetich.
The high school performers were joined by a special guest from the L.A. Phil, oboeist Marion Kuszyk.
Student instrumentalists included Luke Bender, Victoria Chen, Declan Conwell, Henry and Will Dearborn, Johnny Khanlarian, Elizabeth and Victoria Pak, Arshan Saltanzadeh and Sebastian Yu.
Groups that were featured during the concert included the Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble, 7/8 Honor Choir and Choral Artists.
The first song of the night was a heartfelt tribute to the people of Lahaina in Maui, Hawaii.
