Hunt, Nawrocki Earn All-Tournament Team Honors

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ basketball team defeated Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 57-33 in its San Marino Tournament finale. The Spartans finished third in the Silver Division as sophomore Madison Hunt was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 7.5 points and 6.25 rebounds in four games.
Junior Jennifer Musso contributed 12 points, five steals, four assists and one rebound, senior Isabella Chividjian finished with 11 points, four rebounds and three steals, and Hunt tallied 10 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Sophomore Emma Sengul produced nine points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal, while senior Andrianna Pitsos recorded six points, five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. Senior Talia Miyamoto registered four rebounds, three points, one steal and one assist, freshman Tessa Choi chipped in three points and one rebound, and junior Sydney Magtoto was credited with five rebounds, one steal and one point. Junior Ella Magtoto scored two points with one steal, while freshman Violet Waugh had two rebounds.
The Spartans lost to Glendale 50-47 in a tournament game on Dec. 1.
Sengul registered 15 points, two assists and one rebound, Musso produced 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal, and Hunt finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two steals. Miyamoto tallied six points, five rebounds and one assist, Pitsos chipped in three points, three rebounds, two steals, two assists and one block, and Sydney Magtoto collected four rebounds, two points, one block and one steal. Chividjian contributed two blocks, one rebound and one assist, Choi recorded two rebounds, and Ella Magtoto had one rebound.
The Spartans posted a 56-39 victory over Arleta in a tournament game on Nov. 30, as Hunt recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds and one steal.
Pitsos chipped in 10 points and two rebounds, Chividjian registered nine points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist, and Miyamoto tallied eight points, four rebounds, one block and one assist. Choi recorded six points, one steal and one assist, while Sengul finished with five points, five rebounds and two assists. Musso contributed five assists, four points, two rebounds and one steal, while Sydney Magtoto produced five rebounds, four points and one assist.
La Cañada lost to La Salle College Preparatory of Pasadena 55-22 in its tournament opener on Nov. 28.
Musso tallied eight points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist, Pitsos recorded five points, three rebounds and one steal, and Sengul produced four points, four rebounds and one assist.
Choi scored three points, while Chividjian chipped in two points, two steals, one rebound and one assist. Miyamoto finished with four rebounds and one steal, while Hunt registered four rebounds and one assist. Sophomore Natasha Sadhwani contributed three rebounds, Sydney Magtoto had two rebounds, and Waugh had one rebound.
The Spartans picked up a narrow 36-33 nonleague victory over visiting Northview High of Covina on Nov. 29 as Musso produced 11 points, five steals, five rebounds, four assists and one block.
Pitsos chipped in seven points and three rebounds, Chividjian contributed six points, five rebounds and two steals, and Sydney Magtoto registered six rebounds, five points and three blocks. Hunt tallied seven rebounds, four points, one block and one steal, Miyamoto finished with four rebounds, three points, one assist and one steal, and Sengul recorded seven rebounds, one block and one steal.
LCHS (3-4 overall) will host Bell Gardens for a nonleague game on Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. before hosting Temple City for its Rio Hondo League opener on Dec. 13.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy junior Ava Nawrocki was named to the San Marino all tournament team after helping the Tologs finish fourth in the Silver Division

The Tologs lost to La Cañada 57-33 in their San Marino Tournament finale on Dec. 2 to finish fourth in the Silver Division. Junior Ava Nawrocki earned an all-tournament team selection.
FSHA lost to Millikan High of Long Beach 54-46 in a tournament game on Dec. 1.
Nawrocki registered 18 points, while freshman Emily Petrosyan scored 13 points. Senior Isabelle Risha scored eight points, while junior Sophia Astacaan chipped in five points.
The Tologs posted a 54-43 tournament victory over Maranatha High of Pasadena on Nov. 30.
Nawrocki racked up 24 points, Risha and Astacaan each finished with 12 points, and Petrosyan recorded six points.
Flintridge Sacred Heart lost to St. Paul High of Santa Fe Springs 56-40 in its tournament opener on Nov. 28.
Nawrocki tallied 13 points, while Astacaan scored 12 points. Risha contributed nine points, while Petrosyan produced six points.
The Tologs (2-5) will finish competing in the Pasadena Polytechnic Tournament on Dec. 9 before hosting Ramona High of Riverside for a nonleague game on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves routed visiting Mayfield Senior of Pasadena 68-9 in their Prep League opener on Dec. 1.
Sophomore Maddie Smith racked up 22 points, while freshman Addie Lee tallied 15 points. Freshmen Hailey Louie and Megan Quoch each finished with seven points, sophomore Pressley Huie scored five points, and juniors Gigi Mastras and Caydence Acker each chipped in four points. Sophomore Akemi Fu registered 10 rebounds and two points, while senior Cat Baldocchi had two points.
Flintridge Prep secured a 54-32 nonleague victory over visiting Mark Keppel High of Alhambra on Nov. 30.
Smith tallied 19 points, while Fu finished with 14 points and 10 Rebounds. Quoch scored seven points, while freshman Miya Naruko chipped in six points. Huie recorded four points, while Louie and Lee had two points.
The Wolves (5-1, 1-0 in league), who will finish competing in the Bonita Tournament on Dec. 9, will host Westridge School of Pasadena for a league game on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. before hosting Rio Hondo Prep of Arcadia on Dec. 11.
