Proctor, Pastor Spearhead La Cañada Past Diamond Bar

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ basketball team opened the Glendora Tournament with a 79-64 victory over Diamond Bar on Dec. 4, as junior Josh Proctor tallied 23 points, 18 rebounds, two assists and one block.
Junior Josh Pastor registered 22 points, six steals, five assists and two rebounds, while senior Dhilon Gupta tallied 10 points, four rebounds, one block, one steal and one assist. Senior captain Jack Reynolds contributed nine points, six assists, three rebounds and one steal, while senior Spencer Moravec produced eight points, two rebounds and one steal. Senior Anders Petersen finished with five points, four rebounds and one assist, while junior Julian Morillo chipped in two points and two rebounds. Senior Shervin Naini was credited with one assist, while junior Saad Bangash had one rebound.
Following the conclusion of the Glendora Tournament this week, the Spartans (4-4 overall) will open Rio Hondo League action against visiting Temple City on Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

Flintridge Prep senior Henry Morrison scored 15 points to help the Wolves beat Bravo High on Nov 29

The Wolves secured a 55-40 nonleague victory at Bellflower on Dec. 1.
Junior Lawson Holland registered 14 points, sophomore Owen Willingham scored 12 points and senior Steven Ng tallied 11 points. Senior Henry Morrison finished with eight points, junior Malcolm Cook recorded six points and senior Noah Willingham chipped in four points.
Flintridge Prep posted a 61-52 nonleague victory over visiting Bravo High of Los Angeles on Nov. 29 as Holland racked up 25 points.
Morrison contributed 15 points, while Willingham produced 11 points. Ng tallied eight points, while Cook had two points.
The Wolves (6-1) visits Buckley High in Sherman Oaks for a nonleague game on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. before visiting Bishop Diego High in Santa Barbara on Dec. 9.

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights extended their win streak to eight games after sweeping the King’s Academy Tournament, ending with a 52-44 victory over host King’s Academy of Sunnyvale on Dec. 2. Junior captain Mazi Mosley was named the tournament MVP, while senior Ethan Childs, junior Ben O’Connor and sophomore captain DeLan Grant were each selected to the all-tournament team.
Grant recorded 22 points, 11 rebounds and one assist against King’s Academy, while Mosley tallied 18 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal. Childs registered seven points, four rebounds and one assist, while junior Joe Hickey tallied five points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Junior Dyllen Domingo contributed two assists and one rebound, while senior Chris Kalachian recorded one rebound and one assist. Senior Kennedy Mitchell-Egbo had one rebound, junior Noah Henry was credited with one assist and O’Connor had one steal.
St. Francis edged Branham High of San Jose in overtime, 68-66, in a tournament game on Dec. 1, as Mosley finished with 38 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Hickey registered 12 points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist, Childs finished with six points, two assists and one rebound, and Henry tallied five points, one steal, one rebound and one assist. O’Connor chipped in three points, two steals and one rebound, Grant contributed three rebounds and two points, and Mitchell-Egbo produced two points and two rebounds. Domingo recorded four assists, one steal and one rebound, while Kalachian had one rebound and one assist.
St. Francis posted a 59-38 victory over San Mateo in their tournament opener on Nov. 30.
O’Connor finished with 15 points and two rebounds, while Grant tallied 11 points, four rebounds and one assist. Childs contributed eight points, three assists, two steals and one rebound, Hickey produced seven points, five rebounds, one block and one steal, and Mitchell-Egbo chipped in six points and one assist. Mosley recorded seven assists, five steals, four points, two rebounds and one block, while Domingo registered five assists, two points, one steal and one rebound. Junior Liam Selak collected two points, one rebound and one assist, while junior Ryan Smith scored four points. Junior Aaron Matthews had two rebounds, while Kalachian was credited with one steal and one assist.
The Golden Knights (8-1) hosts Maranatha High of Pasadena for a nonleague game on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. before hosting Valley Christian High of Chandler, Arizona, on Dec. 15.
