The La Cañada High School girls’ wrestling team showcased excellence at the Arroyo Duals on Nov. 18.
In the championship match, the Lady Spartans triumphed over host Arroyo High School with a score of 51-36 after a hard-fought bout led by senior captain Allison Ingrassia. Individual champions included Iris Rivas, Angel Lee and Vera Grivinnikova.
The Spartans started the meet strong with consecutive victories of 66-18 against El Monte and Bonita.
La Cañada followed up that performance by avenging one of their few losses from last season with a 48-36 victory over Corona Centennial to secure a spot in the championship match.
