More than 300 people recently came together for the Chabad of the Crescenta Valley’s Celebration of Chanukah event.
The festive night featured crafts, face painting, potato latkes and sufganiyots, which are jelly-filled donuts. Food was available for purchase from the Holy Grill.
On the fourth night of Chanukah, the menorah was lit, and it was a highlight for the guests who watched.
Rabbi Mendy Grossbaum of Chabad of Crescenta Valley talked on the meaning of Chanukah. He offered these words of inspiration: “The miracle of Chanukah is that they found the oil to light the menorah. The Jewish people are the light from the oil that can never be snuffed out, they are an eternal people. It is not enough to just survive, but the oil must be opened to bring light. When lighting the menorah it is to be done in public to bring the light of goodness, kindness, godliness and spirituality to the community and the whole world.”
After the lighting, an impressive BMX exhibition entertained attendees.
