Hillside Students Raise Funds in Color Run

Students from Hillside School and Learning Center students participated in a fundraising run event on Dec. 7, where color stations were set up along the course.
As the students passed through each color station, teachers and staff threw colored powder (made from corn starch) at them. Flying bursts of color decorated the course and the students.
Hillside’s focus is a multi-modular educational approach for students who have a wide range of learning disabilities or emotional and social challenges such as ADD, dyslexia, anxiety and depression. Students are colorful in their individual differences and that was embraced during this fun Color Run event.
Hillside’s executive director Cyndi Hatcher stated, “It was a unique way to celebrate each other and a memorable experience for everyone.”
Several organizations and local businesses sponsored the event: Architecturae Group, AJ Longo, Carpet 4 Less, Harbor Building Maintenance, Glendale Area Schools Credit Union, MUV Proper Fitness, Pyxis Laboratories, Pond Ice Cream, Rosemead Dialysis Center and UBS.
