The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ soccer team has been away from the pitch since losing to South Pasadena in a Rio Hondo League match on Dec. 15.
The Spartans (8-2 overall, 1-1 in league) will host Mayfield Senior of Pasadena for a nonleague match on Jan. 8 at 5 p.m. before resuming league play at San Marino on Jan. 17.
FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART
The Tologs competed in the Pirates Cup Tournament last week and finished with a 1-1-1 record.
FSHA secured a 2-1 victory over Bell on Dec. 28. Sophia Tovar recorded one goal and one assist, while Elyse Lopez scored one goal.
The Tologs tied Leuzinger High of Lawndale 1-1 in their tournament opener on Dec. 27 while suffering a 3-0 loss in their finale on Dec. 29.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (3-3-2) will host Marymount High of Los Angeles for a Mission League match on Jan. 5 at 5:15 p.m. before hosting Chaminade High of West Hills on Jan. 8.
FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves competed in the SoCal Classic Elite last week and finished with a 1-1-1 record after being shut out by Orange Lutheran 1-0 in their tournament finale on Dec. 29.
Flintridge Prep tied Mission Hills High of San Marcos 1-1 in a tournament match on Dec. 28.
Junior Dagny Marion scored one goal, while senior captain Zaria Echemendia was credited with an assist.
The Wolves blanked San Pasqual High of Escondido 2-0 in their tournament opener on Dec. 27. Freshman Avery McCormack and Marion each recorded one goal, while junior Celeste Davila and Echemendia each tallied one assist.
Flintridge Prep (7-2-1, 1-0) will visit Arcadia for a nonleague game on Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. before resuming Prep League play with a home matchup against Mayfield Senior on Jan. 10.
