La Cañada Stays Unbeaten in League With Win Over Monrovia

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ water polo team upended host Monrovia 17-4 in a Rio Hondo League game on Jan. 11.
Sofia Korshakovsky racked up five goals and three steals, Kadyn Day contributed nine steals, four goals and four blocks, and Lorelei Rocca produced four goals, four blocks and three steals. Lilli Perner tallied four steals and three goals, while Kiley Ku recorded three steals and two goals. Didi Reifsnyder-Smith finished with four steals, while Annalina Fogarty had three steals.
The Spartans posted a 14-6 league victory over visiting Temple City on Jan. 9.
Reifsnyder-Smith recorded seven blocks, while Rocca amassed seven goals. Day chipped in three goals, three blocks and three steals, while Alexis Calix finished with three steals and two goals. Ku and Fogarty each scored one goal, while Korshakovsky had one steal.
La Cañada (9-3 overall, 4-0 in league) will visit San Marino for a league game on Jan. 18 at 4 p.m. before competing in the Ocean View Tournament on Jan. 19 and 20.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academys Charlotte Wilson and the Tologs defeated Palisades High to win the Oxnard Tournament on Jan 13

The Tologs defeated Palisades High of Pacific Palisades 17-5 to win their Oxnard Tournament championship game on Jan. 13.
FSHA also defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 14-4, Buena High of Ventura, 17-6, and Malibu, 13-3, across the two-day tournament.
Flintridge Sacred Heart previously lost at Marlborough High in Los Angeles, 9-7, in its Mission League opener on Jan. 9. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The Tologs (13-6, 0-1) will visit Louisville High in Woodland Hills for a league game on Jan. 23 at 3:30 p.m. before traveling to Harvard-Westlake High in Studio City on Jan. 29.


FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves lost to visiting La Salle College Preparatory of Pasadena, 15-9, in a Prep League game on Jan. 11 after beating host Mayfield Senior, 4-2, in a league game on Jan. 9. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
Flintridge Prep (5-3 overall, 2-2 in league) will host Westridge School of Pasadena on Jan. 18 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Brentwood School on Jan. 22.
