Spartans Trio Finish in Double-Digit Scoring in League Win

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ basketball routed host Blair High in Pasadena 74-23 in a Rio Hondo League contest on Jan. 12 as junior Jennifer Musso racked up 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Junior Ella Magtoto poured in 10 points with four rebounds, four assists and two steals, while sophomore Emma Sengul tallied 10 points, five rebounds, one steal and one assist. Senior Andrianna Pitsos finished with eight points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal, sophomore Malia Harney recorded eight points, two steals, one rebound and one assist, and senior Talia Miyamoto produced seven points, four steals, two assists and one rebound. Junior Sydney Magtoto registered five points, three rebounds, one block and one steal, freshman Olivia Abramian chipped in five points, two assists and one steal, and freshman Violet Waugh contributed five rebounds, two points, one block and one assist. Junior Alexis Fitzgerald collected three rebounds, one steal and one assist, sophomores Natasha Sadhwani and Madison Hunt each notched two rebounds and one assist, and freshman Tessa Choi had one point and one rebound.
The Spartans secured a convincing 61-19 league victory at Monrovia on Jan. 10 as Musso poured in 14 points with seven steals, five rebounds and one assist.
Pitsos finished with eight points, five rebounds, three steals and one assist, Sengul registered eight points, three rebounds and two steals, and Harney tallied seven points, three assists, two steals, two rebounds and one block. Senior Isabella Chividjian chipped in five points, three steals and two rebounds, while Miyamoto recorded five points, two steals, two rebounds and one assist. Hunt produced five rebounds, four points, one steal and one assist, while Choi scored four points. Ella Magtoto contributed five rebounds, two points, two steals, one block and one assist, Waugh notched two points, two rebounds and one steal, and Sadhwani had two points and one rebound. Sydney Magtoto collected two rebounds, Abramian had one steal and Fitzgerald had one rebound.
La Cañada (10-7 overall, 3-1 in league) will visit Temple City for a league game on Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m. before hosting Ramona Convent High of Alhambra on Jan. 20.


FLINTRIDGE PREP

Flintridge Prep senior Izzie Chan scored three points to help the Wolves beat Westridge School in a Prep League game on Jan 11

The Wolves routed host Westridge School in Pasadena 62-13 in a Prep League game on Jan. 11 as sophomore Maddie Smith registered 12 points and five steals.
Freshman Megan Quoch finished with nine points, sophomore Akemi Fu scored eight points and junior Gigi Mastras tallied seven points. Freshman Hailey Louie recorded six points, five steals and five rebounds, while junior Caydence Acker produced six points. Senior Izzie Chan and sophomore Pressley Huie each chipped in three points, senior Catherine Baldocchi contributed seven rebounds and two points, and junior Olivia Childs, freshman Addison Lee and freshman Miya Naruko each had two points.
Flintridge Prep defeated host Providence High in Burbank 55-31 in a league game on Jan. 10.
Smith finished with 12 points and six rebounds, Quoch poured in 10 points and Childs registered 13 rebounds and eight points. Huie tallied nine points, while Fu scored eight points. Lee chipped in four points, Naruko produced six rebounds and two points, and Louie recorded two points.
The Wolves (18-1, 6-0) will visit Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia for a league game on Jan. 19 at 4:30 p.m. before hosting Palos Verdes Chadwick on Jan. 22.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy sophomore Ruzanna Margaryan had two points during a Sunshine League matchup against Immaculate Heart High on Jan 11

The Tologs lost at Immaculate Heart High in Los Angeles 43-38 in a Sunshine League game on Jan. 11.
Freshman Emily Petrosyan drained five 3-pointers to lead the team with 15 points, while senior Isabelle Risha poured in 12 points. Junior Sophia Astacaan scored five points, junior Ava Nawrocki chipped in four points and sophomore Ruzanna Margaryan recorded two points.
FSHA (10-9, 0-2) will host Marymount High of Los Angeles on Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. before traveling to Louisville High in Woodland Hills on Jan. 23.
