Kiwanis Club Hosts ‘Seabiscuit Tour’

This past Saturday, the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada La Crescenta-AM had a social gathering at Santa Anita Park for the guided “Seabiscuit Tour,” a combination tram and walking tour, which is held on weekend mornings during the racing seasons.
Reservations are required and accessed online. The tour includes a visit to the stable area, receiving barn, Paddock Gardens and a drive-by of Seabiscuit’s original barn and stall. Participants also walk through the silks room before visiting the saddling paddock, concluding with a stop to see the carriage horses.
Beforehand, the group enjoyed breakfast at Clockers’ Corner restaurant, watching jockeys and trainers work out with their horses on the track. Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert mingled with fellow La Cañadans. Baffert is one of only two trainers who have won the Triple Crown twice.
