La Cañada Softball Rallies Late to Win Season Opener

The La Cañada High School varsity softball team picked up a 5-3 season-opening victory against visiting South El Monte in a Bonita Tournament game on Feb. 10.
The pitching duo of Elle Leckrone and Bentley Labrecque combined to allow one earned run, while a seventh-inning offensive rally gave the Spartans their first win of the season.
Leckrone registered a pair of doubles and two RBIs at the place, while Grace Rocco had a hit and an RBI. Ashley Lovejoy and Riley Labrecque each finished with a hit, while Bentley Labrecque and Laila Kazazian each tallied an RBI.
La Cañada (1-0 overall) will finish tournament play on Feb. 17 before hosting Immaculate Heart High of Los Angeles for a nonleague game on Feb. 20.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART
The Tologs visited Louisville High in Woodland Hills for their season opener on Feb. 13; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
FSHA will visit La Salle College Preparatory in Pasadena for a nonleague game on Feb. 15 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Crescenta Valley High on Feb. 21.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves visited Pasadena for their season opener on Feb. 13; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
Flintridge Prep will visit South Pasadena for a nonleague game on Feb. 15 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting La Salle College Preparatory of Pasadena on Feb. 26.
