La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Parent Education Program celebrated its 45th anniversary with its annual gala on March 2 at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.
This year’s theme was “One for the Record” and included 225 guests and some of the program’s original founders.
LCPC Parent Ed is a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs to parents and children from birth to young adult. The annual event is a fundraiser that helps sustain the organization’s mission and expand its reach in the community. Attendees donned their best black and white attire and celebrated the legacy of Parent Ed.
Gloria Hill, Michael Bonner and Celso Amador received this year’s Shining Star Awards for their diligent work behind the scenes of Parent Ed.
The event was emceed by the Rev. Chuck Osburn, author Chris Erskine, and auctioneer John Cervenka.
Anne Bierling, who has been the director of LCPC Parent Ed for 18 years and helped host the event, said “What an incredible evening to highlight our program and connect people’s goodness and generosity toward a good cause, and what an opportunity it was to celebrate the legacy of Parent Ed.”
