Sheriff’s Crime Report

A residential burglary was reported in the 4300 block of Woodleigh Lane on March 13 at 8 p.m. A deputy responded to the scene after a housesitter arrived to find a suspicious door open.
The housesitter told the deputy that when he arrived at the house and opened the garage, he found the door leading into the house was open.
After entering, multiple rooms appeared to have been ransacked. The housesitter tried to call the homeowner but was unable to reach him, so he called the Sheriff’s Station to report a burglary.
Aside from the garage door being left open, all other doors and windows were closed and locked. But when the deputy did a walk-through the property, they observed a large ladder lying on the floor directly beneath the second story balcony.
Although the property did have surveillance cameras, the housesitter did not have access to them. He also did not know what items may have been missing.

An attempted residential burglary was reported in the 4100 block of Dover Road on March 14 at 3:23 p.m. The resident told the deputy that she was inside her home when she heard her front doorknob jiggling. At the time, she did not think anything suspicious and did not investigate any further. Shortly after, her landlord showed her the CCTV security footage of two men entering their property and removing a CCTV security camera from the wall. The victim realized that the doorknob jiggling was from the two suspects. She believes the suspects attempted to open her front door and then left the area. In the video, the first suspect was seen wearing a gray ski mask, a gray sweater with a white Adidas logo, brown pants and black gloves. The second suspect was seen wearing a black hooded sweater, black sweatpants with a Nike logo and black gloves.

A petty theft was reported in the 5000 block of Alta Canyada Road between March 13 at 10 p.m. and March 14 at 10 a.m. During that time frame, the victim said his Amazon package containing two barstools was missing. The package was delivered and left in his driveway on March 13. However, when he went to retrieve it the following day, the package was no longer in his driveway. The victim had no video surveillance cameras on his property. The deputy located cameras in the area but did not get permission from the property owners to access the footage.
