The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ volleyball team lost to visiting San Marino in four games, 25-22, 10-25, 24-26, 16-25, in a Rio Hondo League match on March 28. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The Spartans (9-8 overall, 1-3 in league) will host South Pasadena for a league match on April 9 at 5 p.m. before hosting Temple City on April 10.
FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves swept host Providence High in Burbank, 25-22, 25-14, 25-22, in a Prep League match on March 28.
Freshman Nicholas Smith finished with nine kills, three blocks and one ace, sophomore Kyle Yun registered seven kills and three aces, and sophomores Zachary Tsai and Dylan Choi each chipped in four kills. Senior Preston Chen recorded one kill and one ace, while senior Warren Nam had one block.
Flintridge Prep swept visiting Rio Hondo Prep of Arcadia, 25-23, 25-16, 28-26, in a league match on March 27.
Yun racked up 16 kills, 16 digs and one ace, Smith contributed 12 kills, three digs, one ace and one block, and Choi produced 12 digs and eight kills. Senior Roderick Liu registered 22 digs and one ace, while junior Christopher Hioe recorded 18 digs and one ace. Tsai finished with six kills, two digs and one block, while Nam tallied nine digs, one kill and one block.
The Wolves (8-1 overall, 3-0 in league) will visit Palos Verdes Chadwick for a league match on April 9 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Pasadena Polytechnic on April 10.
ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights have been on a break since sweeping San Juan Hills High of San Juan Capistrano in a nonleague match on March 25.
St. Francis (18-6 overall, 3-0 in league) will host Loyola High of Los Angeles for a league match on April 9 at 6 p.m. before visiting La Serna High in Whittier on April 12.
