St. Bede the Venerable School held its annual benefit, BedeFest Derby 2024, on April 20 at the University Club of Pasadena.
With nearly 300 guests in attendance, the event featured a festive evening of dinner and dancing, auctions, a lively paddle raise, gaming tables and a raffle.
Proceeds from the night will support the school’s recent expansions in science, math, language arts and technology curriculum, as well as their art, Spanish and enrichment programming.
A special paddle raise portion of the evening brought in significant funding, specifically aimed to support the school’s new athletics equipment.
“As event chair of this fundraiser, I am inspired by the incredible spirit of giving that our community has shown,” Andrea Moore said. “Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant impact on our students and school community.”
Co-chair Sarah Coker said the outcome of the event was a success.
“It was such a collaborative effort of our dedicated school families,” Coker said.
Principal Elizabeth Bozzo is grateful to all who contributed to this year’s annual benefit.
“Our parent community is such a gift,” Bozzo said. “Andrea, Sarah and all of the committee and other parents went above and beyond to support our students.”
Pastor Jim Bevacqua also praised the effort behind the BedeFest Derby.
“We are so excited that all of the [parent community’s] hard work resulted not only in a fun night of community, but will also benefit our kids and St. Bede students, both now and in the future.”
