LCF Warns Residents About Purse Thefts

With an increasing trend of criminals targeting purses in local businesses, the city is asking residents to be aware of their belongings.
The city warned in a social media post that these thieves often strike when victims least expect it, swiping wallets from open purses left in shopping carts or hanging off chairs.
“Even with victims nearby, these suspects operate with stealth, slipping away undetected,” city officials said. “Don’t let yourself become a victim! Keep your purse close and secure at all times. Please don’t make it easy for thieves to access your belongings. Vigilance is key!”
Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station at (818) 248-3464.
“In emergencies, dial 911 immediately,” the city said. “Let’s work together to keep our community safe and deter criminal activity.”
