The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department says its homicide detectives are investigating a stabbing death of a 21-year-old Hispanic woman, identified Wednesday as Raylynn Josephine Deanna Hernandez, whose body was discovered by a hiker at about 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24, near mile marker 30.45 in Angeles National Forest, approximately four miles north La Cañada Flintridge.
According to a release from the sheriff’s, the hiker saw the victim on a hillside just off of Angeles Crest Highway.
The victim, who appeared to have suffered multiple stab wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. The body appeared to have been dumped off a steep hillside just off the road.
