The La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation (LCFEF), a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to raising money to support the local public schools, will honor local residents Brad and Vicki Schwartz with the prestigious Spirit of Outstanding Service Award at the 27th annual LCFEF Gala on March 3.
Brad and Vicki are longtime supporters of LCF schools — not only with their volunteering of time, but through generous donations and their willingness to engage others in the support of our public school system. Brad and his wife Vicki have lived in LCF for about 30 years and have raised two children, Matthew and Jenna, who attended LCUSD schools K-12.
Vicki Schwartz served on the LCFEF Board of Directors in the early 2000s and co-chaired the Gala. She was also very involved with LCE’s PTA, chaired the 7/8 Home Tour, was co-president of the LCHS Music Parents Association, and most recently founded La Canada Flintridge’s Sister Cities Program to promote educational and cultural exchange for our local students. In addition, Vicki serves on Cancer Support Community Board of Directors and is on the Leadership Team of Circle 1500 for the City of Hope and the City of Hope Speaker’s Bureau. Brad Schwartz, the founder of Strategic Law Partners and SLP Ventures, served as an LCFEF Endowment Trustee from 2011-2016 and was a key leader in the Endow LCF Campaign, which raised more than $1.4 million in gifts and pledges for the LCFEF Endowment Fund. Brad has also served many years as a board member of Union Station Homeless Services — and founded the annual LCF fundraising event, “Rockin for the Homeless” and currently serves on the city of La Cañada’s Investment and Finance Committee and the board of directors of Innovate Pasadena and Descanso Gardens.
The Schwartzes will be honored at the Ritz Carlton in Los Angeles, on March 3, at the LCFEF’s annual Gala, “La La La Cañada.” Guests will enjoy live music, dinner and hosted cocktails while bidding on the many auction lots generously donated by community members. Invitations will be mailed in January. Community members or businesses that are interested in supporting the event as underwriters or auction item donors can contact the Educational Foundation at gala@lcfef.org for more information.
