La Cañada Presbyterian Has Taken Worship Online

In the midst of change, La Cañada Presbyterian Church is celebrating online the unchanging good news of Easter and Christ’s resurrection in its sermon series, “#SignsOfHope.”
“There is no greater sign of hope than God’s raising of Jesus from the dead,” said LCPC Senior Pastor Jeff Hoffmeyer. “Now more than ever, we trust that God is making all things new and that God is at work in our weary and hurting world. We are looking for signs of hope in our community and invite you to join us.”
Online services are Sundays at 9 a.m. (traditional) and 10:30 a.m. (contemporary). All are invited to participate.
LCPC has ministry online for all ages — with weekly activities for children, a Bible study, small groups, a “Drive-through Prom” on May 16 for youth, and various opportunities for adults. These include a weekly Pastor’s Bible Study at 8 a.m. on Wednesdays, Life Groups that meet virtually, and an event on May 21 sponsored by LCPC’s Racial Reconciliation and Justice Ministry that raises awareness of the experience of Asian Americans as part of Asian Pacific Heritage month.
The community is invited to donate food and supplies (including homemade masks) to support the work of partnering organizations in Pasadena, Hollywood, and downtown Los Angeles. A list of needed food and supplies as well as drop-off instructions are on the church website (Lacanadapc.org).
LCPC’s Lay Counseling program is operating virtually and is open to people in the community who could benefit from intermediate-level confidential counseling that is offered at no cost. Lay counselors, while not professional counselors, have received hundreds of hours of training and are supervised by licensed counselors. People considering this service can call (818) 790-6708 ext. 430.
Through the “safer at home” orders, LCPC Parent Education has successfully transferred its classes online. Registration for fall classes will open June 3 for current participants and June 10 for new participants; visit the website at lacanadapc.org/parented. Classes are available for those with children between the ages of 0-18.
Visit lacanadapc.org to participate in online worship services, for dates and links to online Jazz Vespers and mini concerts that speak to us in this pandemic, and for more information. All are welcome.
