Softball: Forfeit Boosts La Cañada Win Streak

The La Cañada High School varsity softball team extended its win streak to four games after Immaculate Heart High of Los Angeles forfeited a nonleague game on April 12.
The Spartans (12-7-1 overall, 4-3 in league) will visit South Pasadena for a league game on April 19 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Temple City on April 22.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

Flintridge Prep senior Ava Burlingame was credited with two RBIs during a Prep League game against Westridge School on April 10

The Wolves picked up a 9-6 Prep League victory over visiting Pasadena Polytechnic on April 11 as junior Elise Fong pitched a complete game with four strikeouts.
Freshman Leighton Acker went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, two stolen bases and an additional run, while sophomore Emma Carmack went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a run and a stolen base. Junior Sienna Liston registered a double, three runs, an RBI, a stolen base and a walk, sophomore Mary Sinclair tallied a double, and senior Asta Uziel finished with two runs, a stolen base and a walk.
Flintridge Prep blanked host Westridge School in Pasadena 6-0 in a league game on April 10. Fong, who had a hit, two runs and two stolen bases at the plate, pitched a complete game shutout with nine strikeouts, two hits and one walk.
Liston went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run and a stolen base, while Carmack recorded a hit, two stolen bases and a run. Senior Ava Burlingame was credited with two RBIs, a run and a stolen base, Uziel scored a run and stole a base, and sophomore Allie Dennis stole a pair of bases and walked once.
The Wolves (11-4, 5-4) will host Muir High of Pasadena for a nonleague game on April 18 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Rio Hondo Prep of Arcadia on April 23.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy senior Colleen Traver pitched seven innings with two strikeouts during a nonleague game against Mayfield Senior on April 15

The Tologs lost to visiting Mayfield Senior of Pasadena 10-4 in a nonleague game on April 15.
Senior Colleen Traver, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI at the plate, pitched a complete game with two strikeouts. Senior Megan Milton finished with a hit and an RBI, while senior Abi Blea recorded a hit and a run. Freshmen Siena Gundersen and Jayne Bender each scored a run, while junior Ava Nawrocki and sophomore Ena Ramsey were each credited with an RBI.
FSHA secured a narrow 1-0 nonleague victory at Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia on April 12.
Senior Meaghan Coyle pitched a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts, three hits and one walk, while Nawrocki went 2-for-4 with a solo home run.
Milton recorded a hit and a walk, freshman Emma Dolan, Blea, Traver, Ramsey and Gundersen each tallied a base hit, and Bender walked once.

Coyle pitched four innings with seven strikeouts, while Traver, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run at the plate, pitched one inning with a pair of strikeouts.
Senior Pia Costanzo went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, Gundersen went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs, three runs and a walk, and Blea went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and two runs. Bender went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs, Nawrocki went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, and Milton went 2-for-4 with three runs. Dolan recorded a triple and a run, junior Grace Garrity finished with a hit, two runs and an RBI, and sophomore Juliette Smith produced a hit and a walk.
The Tologs overwhelmed host Marymount High in Los Angeles with a 16-3 league victory on April 9. Coyle, who went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs at the plate, pitched five innings with five strikeouts and no walks.
Traver went 3-for-3 with a triple, five RBIs, three runs and a walk, while Blea went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, three runs and a walk. Smith went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs and a walk, while Gundersen went 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI and a walk. Bender scored twice and walked once, junior Alanna McCann scored a run and walked once, and Costanzo and Nawrocki each walked once and scored a run. Garrity scored a run, while junior Val Hammonds was credited with an RBI.
FSHA (13-8, 3-1) will host Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City for a league game on April 24 at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Sherman Oaks Notre Dame for its regular-season finale on April 25.
