NCL Hosts Mother-Daughter Tea

2

The Glendale Chapter of National Charity League Inc. held its annual Mother-Daughter Awards Tea and Fashion Show at the Pasadena Convention Center. The event is a celebration of both the mother-daughter bond and community service, both pillars of the organization. In addition, the 11th-grade class presented a fashion show, and this year’s theme was “April in Paris.”
Awards were given to the Ticktockers, or daughters, based on the hours served at the chapter’s various philanthropies. This year, 35 Ticktockers received awards for service of 50, 75 and 100 hours or more. Thirteen girls received the 100-plus hour award and class of 2018 Ticktocker Leah Nagel was the recipient of the Merci Award, which honors the Ticktocker with the most hours in the year. Nagel served more than 200 hours. Also, 27 new provisional members were introduced at the tea.
Debbie Cox, event chair, noted that “our annual Mother-Daughter Tea is one of the signature events for our chapter and allows us to honor the efforts of our Ticktockers and admire the poise and confidence of our 11th-graders.”
The membership cycle for NCL Inc., Glendale Chapter commences in the fall. Those interested should visit the chapter’s website at nclglendale.org and complete the online interest form on the “Get Involved” page.
