Children’s Favorites at LCPC Pops Concert

How do our children see the world? How do they see us? What can we learn from looking through our children’s eyes? This year, La Cañada Presbyterian Church’s Pops show, “Thru Children’s Eyes,” will feature the great songs of the 20th and 21st centuries that connect us with our children. The LCPC Chancel Choir, along with the Jack Lantz Little Big Band and Pops Summer Dancers, are presenting a fun-filled evening of familiar and popular music on Friday, June 2, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 3, at 2 p.m.
Songs come from a wide range of movies and Broadway shows and include excerpts from “Frozen,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Mary Poppins,” “Shrek,” “Hercules,” “Seussical the Musical,” “Into the Woods” and many others. The show will be multimedia using movie and theater excerpts to introduce and accompany many of the songs, as well as some enlightening comedic moments and some clips of kids.
Soloists include Diane Wallace, Matthew Thomas, Gregory Geiger, Tom Malcolm, Rebecca Sjöwall, Joanne Horne, Ellen Kirstein, Tina Carey, Bill Lundeen, Lynn Keller, Tyler Wright and many others. The Pops Dancers will perform a dance as chimney sweeps.
Tickets are $20 for reserved seats in the front rows and $15 for general admission. Children are free. Tickets can be purchased from any choir member, at the door, or from the church office.
