LCUSD Files Updated LCAP Document With County

With some minor updates requested by L.A. County, the La Cañada Unified School District finished its required Local Control Accountability Plan on Friday before the state’s July 1 deadline.
The LCAP is a three-year plan identifying specific actions the district’s educators are taking to achieve goals and measures by which progress will be identified. The 257-page LCAP document — which is developed with input from teachers, staff members, administrators, parents and pupils — has to include goals according to eight state priorities and additional local priorities.
The LCUSD Governing Board reviewed the plan at its June 6 meeting and adopted it at its June 20 meeting, after which the Los Angeles County Office of Education requested minor modifications and the inclusion of required state metrics in adjusted goal areas.
“The changes were not substantive, just procedural, and they also required a few additional metrics,” wrote Superintendent Wendy Sinnette in an email Friday, reporting that she’d filed the document.
