The Engineering Club members at La Cañada High School kicked off the New Year with their annual Electronic Disposal drop-off for residents. Club members greeted residents as they drove in, helped them unload their items and gave them a thank-you card. At the end of the day, a record 46,000 pounds of electronic devices were collected from 427 cars. Everything electronic, including TVs, computers, lap tops, printers, fans, small electric appliances and even vacuums were brought in. The club will recycle them and the monies received will be used to help fund their solar car, which will be racing for two weeks from Fort Worth, Texas, to Palmdale in July.
