Since the early 1950s, the La Cañada Noontime Kiwanis Club has been recognizing an individual as the La Cañadan of the Year. The club will be selecting an outstanding citizen from the community to be honored.
The public is asked to contribute to the process by nominating members of the community who have demonstrated strong evidence of “giving back” and exemplary commitment to the community. Longtime La Cañada Flintridge resident and community leader, Jeanne Broberg, was honored last year.
An online nomination form can be found at lacanadakiwanis.org. Forms are also available at the following locations: The La Cañada Chamber of Commerce, La Cañada Library or La Cañada City Hall. The La Cañadan of the Year will be announced in late March and honored at a special luncheon hosted by the Kiwanis Club on Wednesday, April 25, at 11:30 a.m. at Van de Kamp Hall in Descanso Gardens. Members of the public are invited to attend.
