Donors Contribute $7,000 to Remember LCHS Grad

Adam Carmeli

After La Cañada High School graduate Adam Carmeli was killed in a motorcycle accident in December a week after attending his 10-year high school class reunion, his family designated the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation for donations in lieu of flowers as a way to channel the outpouring of grief into something that was meaningful to him.
Generous supporters donated more than $7,000, for which the organization and his mother, Cindy Gates, are grateful.
Carmeli was born in Santa Monica in 1988. His entire school career was spent on La Cañada Unified School District campuses, from kindergarten at Paradise Canyon through graduation from LCHS in the class of 2007. His core group of friends were his former classmates.
He benefitted from small class sizes at PCY, made possible by LCFEF funding. He also attended summer school sessions sponsored by the foundation.
He graduated from USC Marshall in 2011, and most recently was an Air and Ocean Export Manager for Expeditors International.
To donate in Carmeli’s name and memory, call the LCFEF office at (818) 952-4268.
