Recognizing Women’s History Month, 1st graders in Carmilla Hartman’s class at Palm Crest Elementary School paid tribute to Astronaut Sally Ride, the first female American astronaut in 1983. She was the third woman in space. Students made their helmets, bearing their name and the American flag, out of papier-mache balloons.
